Class Placement

Completed registration forms, registration fee, and 1st month's tuition are all required before a dancer may be placed in a class.

Class levels are determined primarily by the dancer's age; however, each dancer's skill-level will be assessed by his or her instructor during the first two classes. Class times range from 45-75 minutes, and class offerings are subject to change by demand and instructor availability. A class must have at least three dancers enrolled in order to remain open.

All dancers who enroll in Pointe Prep or Pointe MUST participate in the twice a week Ballet 2 or 3 classes. This commitment is very important at these levels.

A note about Pointe Prep and Pointe classes: each dancer will be individually assessed to determine when or if she is able to go en pointe. Pointework requires certain physical strengths and technical abilities, and going en pointe too early may put any dancer at risk for permanent injury. The classes themselves are beneficial to dancers whether or not they are actually wearing pointe shoes.

Attendance

Consistent attendance is very important to foster growth and progress in dance class. If a dancer must be absent for any reason, please notify Studio Dance Centre prior to the start of class by phone or email. In the case of absence due to illness or family emergency, a "make-up" of a missed class may be permitted at the instructor's discretion.  Make-ups are not permitted for absences due to family trips, birthday parties, or other conflicting activities.  Make-ups are not guaranteed and may not be possible at certain times of the year due to limited space available and/or when choreography season is under way.

Late Policy

Dancers are expected to arrive early for class.  Entering the classroom late is not only disruptive to the other dancers; it is a potential cause of injury to a dancer who is not properly warmed up. Preschool and Early Elementary Combo dancers who arrive more than 15 minutes late should wait until their tap lesson to enter the classroom. Early Elementary Jazz and Level 1-3 dancers who arrive more than 15 minutes late will be asked to observe the remainder of class.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals from Studio Dance Centre may take place at any time of the year, before the first of the next month when tuition is due. Withdrawals after the seventh of the month are still accountable for tuition. Account balances must be paid in full at the time of withdrawal. Written notice is required for all withdrawals (email is fine) and no refunds are made.

Fees and Tuition

Registration fees help defray the cost of studio administration and upkeep. A non-refundable annual registration fee, required per dancer, is $35. Registration fee is $45 if more than one family member will be registering for classes.

Tuition is due on the first (1st) of the month.  Tuition incurs a late fee of $15 after the seventh (7th) of each month.  Past due payments not received by the fifteenth of the month may result in the dancer having to observe class. Past due payments not received by the last day of the month may result in the dancer being dismissed from class.

Payments are accepted by cash, check, or credit card (Visa and MasterCard only). A $35 fee will be charged for returned checks. Payments are accepted during our hours of operation, which can be found on the front door and on the Contact Us page here on the website.

Tuition is non-refundable and remains the same regardless of absences, vacations, holidays, or inclement weather.
